Two Fungo bats glued to pine wood and split in half to show all the different ways that baseball players cheat by "corking" their bats. Corking a bat is the the act of rilling into the head of the bat and putting a substance in the bat to make it lighter and more buoyant. Apparently, according to MythBusters, it doesn't work. It causes the ball to go a shorter distance because it is so much lighter and obviously less solid than the solid wood. Since 1970 only 6 players have been caught "cheating" with a corked bat... The last being Sammy Sosa from the Chicago Cubs. One of the bats has 5 Superballs in it. According to the legend, on September 7, 1974 Graig Nettles claimed he got a bat from a fan when it was found out that one of the 6 super balls came flying out!
