Evolution Print

This piece is part of my Red Thread series. The Red Thread represents the gift of creativity given to us by the Divine. I cut out the word REPEAT in rows of 2 ply mat board and sewed it onto foam core and used charcoal for the shading. The Red Thread is also sewn throughout the entire piece in different patterns representing the many ways we try out our Red Thread until we finally learn to use it properly. The repetition of the word REPEAT refers to the idea that in life, we often reinvent the same mistake in many different ways, until we finally learn that life lesson. The Red Thread weaves it’s way through the piece in a dystopian manner until the end when it finally resolves and we learn.
