The Great Odalisque Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres painted the Great Odalisque in 1816, it is the work of a neoclassicist, who subverted some principles of neoclassicism such as anatomical verisimilitude. Such a stance was the reason for much criticism that accused Ingres of having created a monstrosity. But, such a monster is also very beautiful and thought-provoking. In the present work I partially used the compositional structure of the original work, I took advantage of some lines of Ingres' drawing, subverting them, and shifted the color palette to a parallel direction. I built the figure with constructivist and partially cubist elements. That is why it is not a re-reading, but a quotation from the great painter and draftsman, who exiled himself in Italy for decades, anguished at not being understood in his own country.
