This painting is ice/cobalt blue and turquoise on a black layer, with lots of paint all over. Details stand our if you look closer, a myriad of color shade interactions, creating a sense of depth, like you were looking behind the painting. I am very much interested in keeping a simple, limited palette of colors and still achieving a richness in shades. I worked with a palette knife here, too. Sides are painted in matching color, so the painting looks beautiful not just from the front. It will be the highlight of a blue/grey, modern interior.

I create non-figurative art with thickly textured layers of oil paint on canvas stretched on wooden frame, using palette knives and plastic cards. Although I do not intend to convey any defined meaning or the representation of something, my audience often find that several of my paintings are actually landscapes. Since I allow the painting that I work on to set a direction and "lead me" in the process, the composition frequently turns out divided by a horizontal line, which then makes the human mind intrinsically think in terms of the physical spaces of land and sky.
