This painting is a distopian vision of sorts , a meditation of the dubious gifts of the Anthropocene age . While much of the environmental change occurring on Earth is suspected to be a direct consequence of the Industrial Revolution, Such innovations were followed by a wave of extinctions, beginning with large mammals and land birds. This wave was driven by both the direct activity of humans and the consequences of land-use .Global headlines are frequently dominated by the consequences of toxic pollution from fraking to chemical ,oil, and radioactive spills .I ponder the planet that future generations will inherit .
