VIEW IN MY ROOM
"La Mouche", or "Plaister", was a beauty accessory back in the French Renaissance (before being used in England and other countries), used first to transform blemishes into a feature. Not only though.... They started using them to let others know what you were in the mood for, what you were looking for. For example, if you were wearing one near your eye, you were looking for a long term love story, full of passion. Plaisters were doing the job of our current dating apps we might say. How brave though ! You were hiding behind a screen or a pseudo. You were proudly wearing it on your face or clevage for everyone to see ! That's what this painting is about. They are wearing their plaster near their mouth, meaning they are looking for a fling, a one night stand, and there is no shame there, they even look jaded, unbothered, almost daring others to say something. They are going against what society expect of them, wearing both male and female attires, from clothes to jewlerry to makeup. And honestly, why care when you look this awesome ?

Zade is a pluridisciplinary artist based in Bristol. Self-taught, their art is therefore one of a kind. Born in Senegal and raised in France by a French father and a Berbere Moroccan mother, they were always surrounded by a multi-cultural ambiance, knowledge and art. Zade is new, no scratch, still dreaming and full of hope. Zade learns, dares and does. They get inspiration from unknown artists, from misfits, from those who still manage to have a unique vision, unbiased. They like to find beauty where most people don't. They mostly work with acrylic and metallic paints, but use all sort of mediums, depending on their daily creativity and their intuition.
