About The Artwork

Mixed media on canvas, one of the latest bright and high vibe energy-laden pieces directly from the artist`s studio in Connecticut suburbs. A balancing act between color, shape, texture abstraction and object. The colored surfaces are continuously worked over. Juxtaposing strong brush strokes and spray paint against delicate and whimsical, made with the artists non-dominant hand, dipping kebab skewers and tree branches in calligraphy ink and letting them dance across the canvas. It's a reminder to remember how lucky we are. Every family has old stories. Lore. These family history stories are often like a game of “telephone.” Each generation that hears the story gets a slightly different version of it as details are embellished or forgotten through the decades. By the time the story reaches you, it may be nothing like what really happened. It’s a perfect piece for a summer residence, where families unwind and reconnect.

As an artist and designer, I've always relished the challenge of turning nothing into something. My art is where spontaneity and careful planning coexist, a reflection of my journey from design to the canvas. Drawing inspiration from contemporaries and the great artists like Frankenthaler, Matisse and Rauschenberg, I navigate the realms of abstract expressionism and mixed media collage. With acrylics, ink, and found objects, I craft pieces that invite joy and provoke curiosity. Each creation is a dialogue, offering layers of texture, color, pattern and form for the viewer to explore. My approach is dual-natured: vibrant and unrestrained at times, deliberate and nuanced at others. Whether through bold color play or intricate patterns, cutting up and rearranging, my work seeks to engage, connect, and enliven. Recent highlights include a solo show at a local gallery and participation in a juried group show, where I received an Honorable Mention by the juror from the Camp Gallery in Miami. My work has been featured in British Vogue and I am collaborating with Anthropologie for some prints.
