About The Artwork

A pair of luminous, golden women, embraced in a close, tight embrace, as if floating in a dark atmosphere. A composition where the spatial references have almost disappeared, to such an extent that the painting, initially conceived in a horizontal format faithful to the starting pose (a double reclining nude), has become a vertical portrait in which one has the impression that the bodies fly away towards a black sky. Finally, the title, ambiguous, which evokes both petrification and the second state due to drug use or stoning for a forbidden love ... This painting is a unique piece made in mixed technique on canvas and combining photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and raised squares). It is framed in a black American box (total dimensions: approximately 85 x 50 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 80 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
