About The Artwork
The Breakdance Competition was an actual event taking place on a summer vacation. The growing "Hey look at me, no me" between the boys was spontaneously met with their decision to have a dance off. While painting them with a simple dividing line I noticed the elephant ears growing along the porch I tend to paint on in the summers and realizing they were not that big the weekend before. I decided they were a lot like the children in the painting. Small for a short time and then before you know it they are as tall as you.
