This work on paper is based on the kaleidoscope experience of living in Los Angeles. When I first moved to the city in 2012, I was drawn to the L.A. Water covers because of the drought. Then, to make something positive out of the idea of living in L.A. I made rubbings of the covers and changed the lettering to spell "L.A. Lover." Everyone complains about the traffic but when you don' t have a car, you don't really need one anymore and you get around faster sometimes and with less headaches. Plus, you see more of the city from angles and perspectives you never experience behind the wheel.
