Abstract digital graphic, contemporary, surrealistic. In this work, brush strokes turn into construction beams and contrasting lines into a city transit architecture. Varying from grayish white to deep black, the strokes conjure up a physical as well as mental space. In the physical space there appear a bridge in the upper part of the work, and two nearly parallel rising highways in the middle and at the outer right. In the mental space, meanings referring to stability and instability, fall and rise with their associated interpretations are created. The strokes guide the viewers' attention to the upper right corner in which the mind's eye prolongs them to create a flow of traffic. The sense is created that all strokes used in the work cooperate in creating a fragile semi-fluid architecture. The complexity of the image technically derives from merging spontaneous movements of a dynamically changing stylus with intuitively controlled algorithmic processes that determine the character of individual strokes and surface, as well as their texture and direction.. The work is printed on Hot Press Fine Art Smooth Bright White paper (an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish, yielding an extremely high color gamut and black density). It is signed and numbered by the artist, accompanied by a CoA, and shipped without hanging hardware, in a very sturdy tube protected against folding and puncture.

I am an experimental artist working in digital painting, graphics, abstract photography, animation, and textile design. My work is abstract in the sense that I invent shapes, colors, and textures without reference to representational concerns. Working entirely digitally, I consider the boundaries between domains of visual art as entirely permeable. Since I work with a large variety of tools aided by a mastery of controlled random, the outcome of my composition and design processes are unpredictable; their results often straddle the line between established visual-art categories. The majority of my visual work is found on SaatchiArt where my musical compositions and German and English poetry are found at www.ottolaske.com. Outside of my artistic work, I am the founder and director of the Interdevelopmental Institute (IDM), a graduate-level teaching institute for those interested in adult-developmental thinking and research.
