Maurice van Venrooij (1977) is a contemporary artist and has his studio in Helmond (the Netherlands). My work is abstract, and is characterized by a systematic, structured approach, which arises from a specific set of rules and variables. Each work is part of a larger serie and each serie has its own set of parameters. These systems allow me to explore the creative possibilities within, which results in infinite options. My study as an architect at the University of Eindhoven has provided me with the fundamentals in my work today. The basic architectonic principles of line, dot, square, grid and zoning, are essential in my work.
