About The Artwork

Horus is one of the ancient Egyptian deities that fascinates me for his strength and rigor. This charcoal drawing is the third in a series of four, in which I wanted to elaborate the metamorphosis of the eye. First, the eye transforms into a falcon that gradually disintegrates until it becomes a pure geometric shape, still retaining the same characteristics of rigor and strength. The technique is dry charcoal and charcoal sticks on paper. This technique allows me to touch the paper with my fingers and feel my work in the most sensory way. I love this technique because it allows me to express my dark side, which contrasts with the fairytale-like and dreamy nature of my other works.

I am an artist, painter, architect, and illustrator, jewels designer, based in Milano, Italy. I am quite often in New York because of my son who lives there. I own a specialized after-school program for children and teenagers with special educational needs (such as dyslexia, etc.), and I strive to help my students discover their talents and learning styles so that they do not drop out of school and, above all, so that they pursue their dreams. I am the mother of a wonderful 22-year-old boy who, despite having dyslexia, graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and now lives there, pursuing acting. Our story is told in a book: 'DSA Decisively Super Fascinating', a book that I would very much like to see published in the USA as well. I believe that art is an indispensable means to remind us that we are souls here on earth for a brief experience. Art reconnects us to paradise, the real one, and above all, it reminds us that it exists.
