VIEW IN MY ROOM
The situation in my country is not the best. Art materials are very expensive. Nevertheless, an artist is an artist, whether in poverty or wealth. The artist feels a compulsive need to express themselves, to vomit out what they feel, glimpse, imagine. And so it happens in my case. That's why, when specific ideas occurred to me that I wanted to capture, I didn't wait to buy a 100x100 canvas or oils. I took a sheet of paper, leftover acrylics from a previous project, pencils, black markers, and I captured what I had glimpsed. Here is the result. A scene. Geometric ghosts. Euclidean ghosts. Non-Euclidean ghosts. Faces blending among the lines and chaotic color, chaotic and cold color. The cold prevails. The ghosts are afraid. Some feel ecstasy. Others contemplate with certain disdain, others suspect, others suffer, others long, others dream. But none live. Argentina
Argentine artist. 23. I have been creating for as long as I can remember. The act of creation, in any of its various facets (whether music, painting, drawing, etc.), involves a form of uninhibition. But it's not about pure and simple uninhibition; it's about the contemplation of what you want to create. Contemplation implies stillness, but also movement. It involves letting in some natural light, but also plunging into the deepest and most unanswerable recesses of the mind. The mind. That's where it all is. If I had to summarize my artistic pursuit, I would say it is a mental search. The question of the subconscious in its different manifestations. I have been told at some point that my works seem like Freudian discourses covered in colorful expressionism. Maybe so. But I don't like to pigeonhole myself into any genre or style. My search is mental, yes, but sometimes I think I find answers in a certain style, other times in another. I am particularly interested in spontaneity. But I am also calculating. I can paint three paintings in the span of a morning, or spend two whole months making sketches and mentally projecting a certain image to reach a conclusion. I believe in geometric, let's say, "Euclidean" art, but also in the "non-Euclidean." I have no formal training. I don't reject theory. But I am also not interested in immersing myself in it. I don't reject artistic education, but I believe that observation and experimentation are my best allies. I constantly observe. I constantly experiment. Sometimes with satisfactory results. Other times, not so much. But it's part of the process. Part of the search. I navigate the mental sea of unanswered questions. Of fish that wander aimlessly. Of cubes, triangles, and rhombuses. And radio frequencies.
