About The Artwork

I felt an overwhelming need to paint a wheat field, even though I didn't know of any nearby. So, I turned to my imagination and my studio to create "Wheat Field," an original mixed media painting inspired by a vision from nowhere in particular. 😊 This piece features warm, golden hues of yellows, browns, and subtle greens. Using a combination of acrylics, inks, pencils, and Dulux's Colour of the Year 2023, Wild Wonder, this artwork is designed to blend seamlessly with interiors that incorporate this beautiful shade.

I was born and raised in a little market town, called Leek, in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. From an early age, I loved going off exploring my gorgeous surroundings, from the local river to the highest peaks called 'the Roaches'. I became passionate about art from an early age, thanks to the encouragement from my talented artistic mother. I studied at Leek College of Art, then Staffordshire University, but even though I always wanted a career doing something arty and creative, for many years after university, my artistic passions were confined to evenings and weekends. With two jobs and raising two boys, I always tried to find an opportunity to get in a little creative time, even if it was for an hour a month. No matter where I lived, or how limited the space was, I always had a cupboard full of random materials and paints and never gave up on the dream. Five years ago, I finally managed to make art my full-time occupation, and I feel truly blessed. I am now the Co-Owner of The Fox & Crow Gallery in the Foxlowe Arts Centre, Leek, Staffordshire, which is an artisan shop and a great platform for local artists to sell their work. With my love of textured art, photography, and nature, I started to explore with landscapes and seascapes, using mixed media to create the texture in my pieces, and produce atmospheric pieces that reflect the beauty of nature. Available as unique one-off pieces and prints, my artwork is ideal for both residential and corporate environments. In addition to my original art and commissioned works, my creations have been printed onto high-quality homeware, producing unique and beautiful gifts. My range includes cushions, mugs, coasters, place mats, acrylic blocks, and fine art prints. I also provide bespoke artwork tailored to suit any theme, colour scheme, or mood board. For those finishing touches, I also offer custom soft furnishings and small pieces of art to complement your chosen artwork perfectly.
