About The Artwork
Alley Pond Park sits in the brackish waters between Queens and Nassau County out on Long Island. It can sometimes be a pleasant spot for me to visit, however, during the days that I painted this, I felt a deep sadness and loneliness, which I hoped to work through, using nothing but oils and canvas. To be sure, I am a generally happy and lucky woman with an adoring family and wonderful circle of friends, but I also know that not all of us are as lucky. I humbly submit this award-winning piece for the lost and lonely in all of us.
