About The Artwork
Original oil painting on portrait linen. The dimensions measure 12"×12". I have plans to add a mulberry silk back liner, as I tend to apply that technique to 1.5" thick canvases so that the edges can be painted along with the facing pictoral plane. Conversely, I tend to frame .75" thick canvases in floating frames. This flower girl follows a familiar theme in my work of being delicate but unwelcoming. Although pastels are commonly soft and warm, mine are frequently cold and distant.
