Crested Butte Colorado Painting

Crested Butte Colorado, This started as the demo for an oil painting class I was teaching. Later on I finished it in my studio. I love Crested Butte and have visited the area 3 times. The views are so breathtaking there and I am sure I will return in the future. This photo was taken in an area where we hiked. I was motivated to paint this beautiful scene due to the shadows across the road and to capture the beautiful shapes and vivid colors of the trees against the mountains. There is nothing that prettier than seeing aspen trees in the fall with their bright and vivid colors. This painting is framed in a dark wooden frame with warm undertones and a gold fillet. It is ready to hang on the wall in a forever home.
