About The Artwork
One of the inalienable attributes of a Tajik unmarried beauty was long hair, which was braided into forty small braids. Kokul were woven into the middle of the braids - a special weaving of melange thread and beads. Usually, kokul were woven into braids if the hair density was insufficient, since braids with cocks look more voluminous, and also to give the hairstyle a more festive look. I decided to capture the forgotten tradition of my people on canvas.
