This work is a symbol of devotion and acclamation of obedience to the ancestors. Pasola is part of the Marapu annual ritual, which is carried out by the Sumba people, in the NTT region (East Nusa Tenggara), Indonesia. The name Pasola comes from the word "sola" or "hola", which means a kind of wood javelin which is used to throw each other off a horse that is being driven hard by two opposing groups. With the prefix 'pa' (pa-sola, pa-hola), the meaning becomes a game. So pasola or pahola means a game of dexterity throwing a wooden javelin over a horse's back that is being driven hard between two opposing groups. Pasola is part of a series of traditional ceremonies performed by Sumbanese people who still adhere to the original religion called Marapu (local religion of the Sumbanese people). Pasola games are held in turns in four villages in West Sumba district, namely Kodi, Lamboya, Wonokaka, and Gaura. For me, Pasola is a bond of brotherhood, as strong advice for all of us. And Pasola illustrates gratitude and expression of joy, because of the abundant harvest. With this work I hope that 'Pasola' and Sumba tourism will be even more famous in the world. I want to inform you that Indonesia is so rich in culture. In this work, spontaneous color strokes symbolize passion and enthusiasm, and the green background symbolizes community obedience to God, extraordinary gratitude, fertility, abundant fortune, healthy, happy, growing and growing, dynamic following the changing times.
