Lift Up Your Eyes To The Heavens in dim light. You can see the slight glow of the stars in the upper third of the painting. Glow in the dark acrylic paint was used to create this surprise effect.
This is the way the painting looks in darkness after the lights are turned off. The stars painted with glow in teh dark paint glow for a while creating a fun conversation piece and interesting/unexpected effect.

About The Artwork

"Lift up your eyes to the heavens" by Stephen Lursen is an original acrylic painting on gallery depth canvas. It is 36" x 36" x 1.5" deep. "In this work I really wanted to experiment with color, shape and glow in the dark acrylic paint. You may be able to see some of the numerous glow in the dark stars I've painted across the upper third of the canvas. I love the idea of being able to experience the painting in a whole new (and very exciting) way after the lights go out." - Stephen This painting is highly textural as many additional acrylic media were added including molding paste (modeling paste) and texture (sand) paste. "When I was painting this, I was reminded of summer camp, walking outside during and after the sunset to see the sun go down and the stars come out. The earthiness of the lower third is completely overcome by the colors of the abstract sky. And once the lights are turned off in the room where in the painting is hung, these stars will glow too. I hope you purchase this painting for your own wall!
