The variety of different autumnal colours drew me to this image (the picture is based on a photograph by Colin Baxter). The reflection was quite difficult to capture in watercolour - it took me a lot of experimenting to get it right, but here I think the results are very pleasing. The stormy sky adds to the dramatic atmosphere. Painted on ARCHES, 300g, rough watercolour paper (which has a textured surface finish) with Winsor & Newton paints. Sold unmouted and UNFRAMED (it is shown mounted and framed in one of my shots but just to give you an idea). Painted to the edge of the paper. If you want the painting to really stand out then paying a professional framer will give you best results. But if you look in your art supplies shop you can find the materials to create your own mount and frame.
