This plein air oil painting captures the stunning beauty of Point Lobos Nature Reserve in California on a bright and sunny day. The focal point of the painting is a set of towering ocean cliffs that dominate the scene, with their rugged texture and jagged edges rendered in bold and juicy brushstrokes that bring them to life. In the foreground, a small cove is visible, with crystal-clear turquoise water lapping gently at the shore. The shallow part of the cove is painted in vivid shades of blue-green, capturing the stunning clarity of the water and the way it reflects the bright sunlight above. The cove is surrounded by rocks and boulders, each one depicted in rich and detailed brushwork that gives them a sense of solidity and weight. To the right of the cove, a sandy beach stretches out into the distance, with purplish-blue shadows cast across its surface by the towering cliffs behind. Overall, this oil painting is a tribute to the natural beauty of Point Lobos Nature Reserve, capturing the vibrant colors and textures of the cliffs, cove, and beach in vivid detail. It's a perfect piece of art for anyone who loves the ocean and wants to bring a touch of California sunshine into their home. Materials: Claessens Double Oil Primed 100% Professional grade Belgium Linen Mounted on 1/8" Sintra Panel. The painting is varnished with Gamvar varnish, unframed, it will need a frame to display on a wall.

Signature member of American Impressionist Society (AIS),Signature Member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA); an Artist Member of California Art Club (CAC), and Oil Painters of America (OPA). All my childhood and youth I lived and breathed music. The transition from playing piano to transferring this inner music on canvas with oil paint happened later in life. I see my art as visual music. I try to bring it to life with harmonious colors, which emanate joy and peace. I infuse each of my brush strokes with its own kind of melody. My hope is that the viewers will hear the sounds and rhythms of that music as they look at my work, and it will generate the same emotions and connections that I had when painting that piece. I am inspired by the way light shapes the landscape, and I strive to capture it on canvas. I often paint en plein air (on location), which allows me to use all my senses to interpret a scene in front of me with a sense of immediacy and honesty. I choose to paint in oils, because I love their robust quality of bright, luminous colors, which are easily bendable and capable of retaining texture and showing brushstrokes. My favorite starting point for the landscape painting is the golden light of late afternoon, known as the “magic hour”, which creates the most intriguing and fascinating effects by merging captivating shadow patterns and warm, luminous color of the setting sun.
