My oil portrait of Rutger Hauer's character Roy Batty from the iconic movie "Blade Runner", a symbol of our lives' search and constant struggle for meaning and understanding. Inspired by his iconic death scene, the painting features a background of greens and blues that symbolize his introspection, longing and hope. At the same time, like the pouring rain in the scene, which looks like tears, it expresses his deep sadness because he knows that death is near. The battle-scarred face with its penetrating gaze expresses a brief, intense and determined search for meaning. Strong colors and dynamic brushstrokes underline the inner and outer turmoil and are intended to agitate and stimulate reflection.

In a hectic and crowded world, our actions are often impulsive and without reflection. In my art, I immerse myself in the world of icons past and present. I explore their personalities and values and look for the lessons we can learn from them and the inspiration they offer us. My depiction of icons manifests itself in vivid portraits, imbued with strength and sensuality. I am fascinated by how stories can be told through facial expressions and posture and the power they have to touch us deeply. In my artistic practice, I combine various techniques such as painting with brushes, drawing, airbrushing and printing. I value the traditional craft aspect of painting while always keeping my eye on the future. My goal is to grow and mature both as an artist and as a person by continually exploring and learning new techniques. Each of my works is an experiment in which I combine the familiar with new methods to enrich my art and give it more expressiveness - also through the use of digital tools. Ultimately, it is my desire to convey a message through my art: The wisdom, values and power of our icons can encourage us to walk the path to the future.
