Snowy Night Painting

This piece depicts a quiet snowy night in the inner city. It gives a sense of calm and peacefulness. It appears that everyone is in for the night as the snow gently falls over the scene. I was inspired to do this piece after a walk down a quiet urban street right after dark as the snow began falling quietly. I chose the materials to give a feeling of the extreme age of the buildings in the scene, with those in the far distance being just sketchy images blurring out in the snow.
