VIEW IN MY ROOM
A split-complementary color scheme for a pitbull. I felt this was fitting seeing as how pitbulls have such a terrible reputation on one side and yet are known as "natural nannies" on the other. This pit's portrait showed him squared off to the camera so I included the outline but didn't want to distract from his demeanor so the body was left as a thought to be finished. He looks away, ears neutral, docile and friendly, the one eye glittering with cheerfulness. I wanted to put emphasis on the title and thus let the background center around the dog's tags. A friend of mine recently lost her dog and was able to find him thanks to the tags she had purchased for him. It's such a small thing that I think many of us take for granted, but they really can make the difference between dead pound stray dog or returned home beloved pet. ~*~ This piece has not sold yet but is being placed on hold for a show I have in the fall. I will sell it under the stipulation that it be available for my show. The curator will place a placard with it that says it was donated to the show from your (and your name will be given) private collection or, if you prefer, it can say an anonymous collection. The show will be over November 1st, '15. You may message me if you are interested in purchasing this original painting and then I will update this to show it is actually sold. ~*~ Original's price: $522.00

Message me for details. I use bright colors because I study life and life, when you really think about it, is not subtle. I enjoy studying the intricacies of the way light plays on a subject, where it bounces directly, where it reflects, and work to freely express those discoveries. I believe that art is an expression of one's soul. The idea that something I created called to another person is incredible. Thinking about having pieces of my work, my life, my very essence, out and about around the world, makes me giddy. My favorite quote of all time is Leonardo da Vinci's "Learn how to SEE. Realize that everything is connected to everything else." It's this connection that I'm forever contemplating and exploring.
