This is from an old vintage-looking photo I found. I wanted to try and recreate this effect with broad strokes. This, for me, lends itself to the feeling of simplicity I get with this painting. It has a nostalgic feel as the woman swims - a simple pleasure and an activity often synonymous with tranquility and escape.

J A C Bezer is an English artist based in Barcelona, Spain. Self-taught, his interests lie in portraiture, figurative, and abstract painting. His focus for the last year has been his collection of bird paintings. Each is an oil painting of a bird on top of and abstract background painted in acrylics. In this collection he is interested in the juxtaposition between the formless abstract backgrounds and the crispness and detail on the birds on top. He divides his time teaching, painting originals and working on commissions.
