About The Artwork

Thalassa I is an 80x110 cm acrylic work on canvas, blending the vastness of the ocean with the serenity of the sky. The piece is divided into two halves, each evoking a different aspect of nature's grandeur. The lower half captures the essence of ocean waves, rendered in an abstract style with bold brushstrokes of blue. Small purple lines are interspersed throughout, adding a dynamic sense of movement and depth to the sea. The upper half of the painting is a tranquil expanse of light blue and white, depicting the sky in a soft, planar fashion. This minimalist composition focuses on the feelings evoked by gazing into the blueness of the ocean, offering a sense of calm and relaxation. Although abstract, the painting clearly conveys the sea, making it a perfect piece for a bedroom or living room, where it can inspire peace and contemplation.

She is an emerging artist inspired by color and nature, creating works where even the smallest things have their place. She employs classic techniques as watercolor to achieve the immediacy and spontaneity of the medium and oil to create subtle color harmonies, relatively static compositions and simple forms, to make up imaginary, dreamlike landscapes, sometimes as taken from children's books. Following Walter Benjamin’s thoughts, she always tries to give the ‘aura’ to her works, that is, investing an object with human qualities and emotions, where the painting value will come largely from its exclusivity. Her paintings and illustrations hang in private collections around the world.
