Disclaimer: the words 'The easy choice' are not aimed to one only option. In the painting we have presented the two poles of society, those who follow the dream job and those who pursue the more standard career. Both could be the easy choice - often we think that the dream job is the most accessible for ourselves or often we tend to go towards the 9-5 job because it's safer - yet none of these truly are the easy choice. Inside a room cube we have a floating angel surrounded by blooming trees and a white canvas, the beauty of our passion, our creativity. A choice that not only comes with words of prejudice and judgement from society but also carries so many uncertainties, the 'will I succeed' thought, the finances worry, the slow growth and so on. Outside the cube we have portrayed a crowd of figures walking with bottle of alcohol shades. The choice of chasing the standard job even if appears a safer path, often times leads to the feeling of unfulfillment and unhappiness in many of us. The easy choice does not exist. This painting is a pursue for hope, hope for more diversity and more acceptance in the world and less judgement.

Thais Palma Bottiglieri is an Italian and Portuguese contemporary visual artist. Currently lives and works in Ireland after a long life of traveling around the world with the wish of finding what she would identify as Home. Art was always her only constant. An only friend. Initially inspired by her mother's passion for decor and design, Thais started her career painting mainly interiors. Four walls that kept her safe, comforted and loved when the outside world would often create a sense of disappointment. Eventually those walls had to be broken as she was expected to explore more than a mere love for beautiful pieces of design. Today her artistic process involves the portrait of her human feelings, dreams, fears, visions, moments witnessed. Most of them perhaps relatable to others. It is autobiographical. Moments lived and still to be lived. Past, present and future.
