About The Artwork

Timehunter, oil on canvas, is representing a woman poised with a powerful presence, her hands placed protectively in front of her pubis. She wears a skirt, symbolizing modesty and tradition, while her nude torso reveals vulnerability and strength in equal measure. This juxtaposition between clothed and bare, concealed and exposed, speaks to the complexity of female existence and the journey of aging. The woman, a 'timehunter' embodies the relentless pursuit of meaning and the inevitable passage of time. Her stance is capturing the essence of resilience in the face of life's inexorable flow. The artwork's balance between strength and vulnerability invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences with time and existence, making "Timehunter" a profound tribute to the enduring spirit of womanhood.

-Melinda is based in London. Her work focuses on philosophical and empirical questions emerging out of human experience, both individual and collective. Her main focus is the human condition and one's internal world one experiences amidst the expectations of society. She is interested in the present and the past, her paintings explore different points of view on existence. -Experimenting with colour is important in her creative process, as well as partially deconstructing the forms which allows her to find an equilibrium between figuration and abstraction. -Melinda was born as an ethnic Hungarian in Transylvania (Romania) in 1976 under the communist regime, and as a teenager she witnessed the sudden uprising of the people, which eventually ended it. She found the transition between the silent acceptance into the outburst of desire for freedom fascinating. Later this brought up Melinda’s interest in Psychology. -In 2009 she graduated from the University of Art and Design, Cluj receiving her BA in Fine Art, Painting. -In 2013 she moved to England.
