This artwork is a part of the series “Irony of modern days. The series is about my observations of everyday things and thoughts that arise in my mind and imagination as a reaction to my surroundings. It's like a personal ironic diary that I keep while walking among people and animals in the city or scrolling through social media. In this series it’s easy to feel the influence of the education I received in a poster workshop at a graphic design department. Safe to say it’s my thoughts and associations poured into a form intermediate between a painting and a poster. Working with texts has always been a part of my self-expression. It is in this series that I came to combine three of my favorite areas: writing, humor and painting.

Ukrainian artist living in Vienna inst: @hellosonya.art ___ In my practice, it is important for me to explore life through humor, irony and metaphor. My creative searches can be conventionally divided into two groups: the first one is focused on mystical, mythological themes, the path of self-exploring through psychology, esoteric laws of the universe and connection with nature. The second one is dedicated to highlighting prosaic little moments in everyday life. In such a polar topics, I see a balance between a person's spiritual search for his destiny and a grounding connection with physical reality, which is the necessary base of this development. I want my works to evoke warm, happy feelings, but with a hint of a mystery that the viewer has to solve or to think about. It is important for me to talk about the deep connection between human and nature, so in my works you can see a lot of animals in typically human situations and, on the contrary, people in the natural environment as its integral parts.
