I painted this from a trip I too with my sister to the Sea of Japan. It is a fantastic place to visit anytime. I wanted to use watercolor to capture the dynamic feeling of the sky nearing sunset over the wide sea. Inspiration comes from John S Sargent, and Emile Nolde and others.
