About The Artwork
After a painting workshop in rural Ireland, where I became entranced by the lush hedgerows, I began a series of works that explore my response to the lush, chaotic forms of overgrown brush. I'm working from my imagination and letting the brushwork lead the way. Many layers, some covered, some scraped back, all contribute to the final composition. These layered textures of paint seem to best symbolize the growth and death that a wild hedgerow consists of.
