NB: The colour and brightness of the painting may be slightly different from your device you are using. --------------- This work was inspired by our hard working women especially in Africa. The painting is from a picture I took in the coastal region of Nigeria where women are "fishermen" as this woman, who also augments her income by making traditional mats which sells at her free time aside other economic activities. She is equally elderly but she is very active. Its a craft that is fast disappearing, when I made this picture in circa 2007. I painted in subdued tone as the room in a village was equally smoky and dark. depicts the surviving spirits against odds in such a somber atmosphere. No excuses. Enjoy it.
