In the studio, over the past 15 years, I've been fascinated with photographing flowers on a solid black background with minimal lighting. These images evoke an emotional stillness and a spiritual feeling that natural things exude. Although I've made C-Type prints on paper of this image (available in 16x20), on acrylic it offers a beautiful modern sense of presence. The image is 16" x 20" digital C-Type printed directly on 1/4" acrylic. The corners are slightly rounded. This work is ready for display with an attached mount that floats 1.6” off the wall.

I have been creating artwork and photographs for over 50 years. My painting was influenced at a very early age by the abstract expressionist movement of the early-mid twentieth century. Photographically my inspiration came from the likes of Minor White, Edward Weston, Garry Winograd and Jerry Uelsmann. I've lived in numerous locations in the USA and overseas but now make my home in St Augustine, Florida. I paint in oil and acrylics on canvas, favoring large panels. For my photographic works I use both traditional analog and digital equipment.
