About The Artwork
This is an abstract and minimal depiction of an asteroid hitting the Earth, thus the name Altum Impulsum, which means "deep impact" in Latin. The impact is so powerful that it distorts the time and space around us. We create and experience impacts all the time in our everyday life. The words we speak, the actions we take, and even the eye contacts we give to others, would create impacts with magnitudes beyond what we initially estimated. Impacts could multiply as they propagate through the fabrics of our society. We should respect each other since we are all constantly impacting each other in many many different ways.
