About The Artwork

Get lost in another world on an abstract journey through the galaxy of psychedelic Mindscapes. Borne out of regularly creating hiking maps as a graphic designer… constantly zooming in and out on the landscape from above, I began to see each map not as graphical information, but as a pattern…or a growing organism… similar to tree roots, fungus or neural pathways. Inspired by colour & pattern from both the natural and human made worlds around me I create stand-alone patterns using non-fading acrylic ink, spray paint, paint markers and sometimes found images like maps. I then tear apart a selection of these patterns and piece them together to create a balanced final artwork, reminiscent of a landscape. Through this art I surrender control and let the flowing ink take over.
