About The Artwork
This work is inspired by the rich history and heritage of Constantinople and Siena's majestic cathedral. It represents a "liturgy", the Adoration of the Crowned, as it was in ancient times, with the Crowned secluded within the Ark of the Crowned in accordance with the edict by Nikephoros "The Old" of house Magnanerri. The reference to Constantinople lies in the name of the represented palace, the Blachernae. The Blachernae were the last Roman imperial palace and have always struck my attenention and aroused my interest.
