Giovanni E. Morassutti (March 15, 1980, Padua, Italy) is an Italian actor, theatre director, writer, artist, and cultural entrepreneur. He is a graduate of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and representative of Method Acting, with direct experience with Susan and John Strasberg. He interned at the Actors Studio and he has been studying the Method and the Organic Creatives Process since early 2000. Since 2001 he has appeared in more than 20 independent films, prime time tv and international films. In 2016 he wrote the preface of the Italian version of Strasberg´s book “ Accidentally on Purpose: Reflections on Life, Acting and the Nine Natural Laws of Creativity ” and in 2021 he wrote “Strasberg Legacy” revealing what is beyond the famous Method Acting and the Actors Studio of New York. As a Neo- Expressionist visual artist he combines action painting and collage techniques with dynamic brushstrokes, and found materials including Illustrations, portraits and textiles. Many of his works have also plastic fake eyes installed on the canvas. Main themes are sexuality, obsession, suffering, family, loneliness and death. In 2020 Morassutti realized a series of works based pairing wine with contemporary art featuring his videoartwork "Ribolla". Other collections include: Family of origin and Eyes. He is influenced by the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Julian Schnabel, Jackson Pollock among others. Giovanni Morassutti is also the founder of two art residencies: Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence and its subsidiary Art Aia - La Dolce Berlin.
