About The Artwork

Small boat, near the Rock and the Belvedere, in the English Garden of the Petit Trianon, in the park of the Palace of Versailles. The “Great Rock”, whose laborious construction required four years, is the natural counterpart of the belvedere: this artificial mountain, surrounded by conifers, is the very source of the aquatic effect of this “little Switzerland”, sometimes also nicknamed the “Alpine Garden”. From a reservoir located at the rear and fed by the Trèfle basin, the water flows into the lake in a torrent. A wooden footbridge allows the walk near the waterfall: by crossing it, the visitor is “supposed to feel the terror, the exaltation and the felicity of Rousseau crossing the mountains of Savoy. Under the Ancien Régime, it was stocked with carp, perch and barbels, for the pleasure of fishing, but also allowed trips in boats or gondolas.

Jerome GEO Labrunerie is a contemporary award-winning French painter based in Germany. Labrunerie has mastered the craft of bringing his subjects to life on canvas. His work transcends the mundane, transcending mere representation to encapsulate the true spirit of his chosen subjects. Whether he's immersed in the bustling streets of Paris, the tranquil beauty of the countryside, or the enigmatic expressions of famous faces, Jerome's artistic lens captures these moments with an authenticity that resonates deeply with viewers. What distinguishes Labrunerie's work is his remarkable ability to depict his subjects in their most natural state, often caught unexpectedly in the throes of everyday life. These unscripted moments connect with the observer on a visceral level, evoking a sense of shared humanity and relatability. The canvas comes alive under Jerome's skilled hand, which infuses each piece with rich textures, evocative emotions, and vibrant colors. His art represents a modern fusion of impressionism and realism, where traditional techniques meld seamlessly with contemporary sensibilities. The result is a body of work that not only engages the eye but also stirs the soul. In the world of contemporary painting, Labrunerie shines as a luminary, a master of capturing the essence of life's fleeting moments. His ability to transport viewers into the heart of his subjects' worlds is a testament to the enduring power of art to connect and inspire. With a vibrant palette and an unerring eye for detail, Labrunerie persists in enhancing the contemporary cultural landscape of our era.
