About The Artwork
African Batik fabric and summer colors were the inspirations for Beach Pansy. The bright green outlines of the design mimic the defining lines that are seen in fabric designs that are not uniform lines. The pale blue harkens to summer skies and the shades of orange and bright yellow reflect my beautiful lily blooms of the season. I am a small-scale artist and I want my work to draw in viewers to take a closer look at the line work and texture of the surface. My paper is what I call "wine paper" which is upcycled from the dividers in wine boxes. This is an amazing paperboard that holds so much paint and ink.
