My brother in law took this photo of this bison on Antelope Island in Salt Lake City. I really liked the way the light lit up different textures on the bison. The different types of fur, the horn, and his eye. This bison was a pleasure to paint and I loved spending the time bringing him to life. It was interesting to see different colors pop out in the shadows. I saw blues, oranges, yellows, reds, and many variations of browns and blacks. I grew up in Las Vegas, NV and loved mostly drawing and painting and I did really well in all of my classes. It came very easy to me. Then after college and all my schooling, I married my wonderful husband, Dan, and we had four beautiful and wonderful children. When our youngest was about 1, Dan encouraged me to take a realistic watercolor class and I was completely hooked. I loved it and found it totally resonated with me.
