About The Artwork
I'm a nature lover as you can already tell and I enjoy gardening and have lots of plants and trees and insects in my garden. I happen to love butterflies and their truly amazing colors and patterns. Nature truly is the greatest artist of all. I also happen to love flowers and shades of purple. If you ask me what type of flower this is, well I made it up however it does look like it could be a real flower right? I just love the way the petals feel and how silky and wavy they can be so I tried to capture that in the flower as it is being sat on and examined by the butterfly. "The Butterfly Effect" of course refers to chaos theory and it is kind of hard to believe that a butterfly flapping its wings on one side of our world could somehow, despite its minuscule input effect, cause a huge storm like Hurricane Beryl which narrowly missed my island in the Caribbean this summer, thankfully.

Kathleen "Gail" Sookdeo is a Trinidadian artist from the island of Trinidad & Tobago located in the South Caribbean (West Indies) and is a self-taught painter who is passionate about art and has been painting from a young age. She was unable to paint for many years due to having to take care of her sick parents (who both passed away) but she recently started painting again and is seeking support for her work. This is the first time she has offered any of her work to the public for sale. She hopes to be able to provide many more of her original works here in time.
