About The Artwork
I wanted to do some self-portraits like Egon Schiele, so here I did a self-portrait using his techniques of a sketch with thin layers of color. I hope the viewers feel a sense of immediacy and melancholy. I chose oil as it is very expressive of emotion and the color blue to convey the melancholic feeling.
