About The Artwork
This self-portrait is based on a photograph of myself with my daughter after we finished painting each other's faces for Halloween. I was interested in how our face painting styles differed. Her lines and shapes on my face are playful and open-ended, whereas my 'adult style' is based on an image of a Tibetan mask with culturally specific forms and shapes, such as the third eye.
