The painting is an neoclassical impressionist work of one of most rarest and oldest five gold plates commissioned by King Saw Lu (19 April 1049-21 April 1084) in Bagan, Myanmar/Burma. The painting is about Gautama Buddha preaching his first sermon to his first disciples in a forest in north India some 350 BC. The art was painted in gold, dark green, brown and yellow.
