About The Artwork

Green turtles are one of my favorite sea creatures to paint. I decided to push the envelope further than my usual acrylic paintings on canvas and create bas relief with plaster of Paris and burlap on a wood circle. I then painted it with acrylic and poured resin over the surface. It is incredibly beautiful in person. The 3d aspect gives the painting a very realistic look and feel. This original sold and the client wanted a lazy Susan hardware installed so it could be displayed on a coffee table in interactive way.

Dear Art Collectors, I am originally from NE Canada, moved to Fort Lauderdale in 2000 and became a US citizen in 2018. I spent the last 20 years freelancing as private luxury yacht chef in the Bahamas, Caribbean, New England, Flrorida and the Mediterranean while dedicated all my time to painting my travel memories between my yacht contracts. I now work full time as artist out my Fort Lauderdale studio. I participate in numerous local fine art shows and festivals throughout the year as well as fundraisers for marine and coastal related conservation efforts through the sell of my art. Several of my paintings have been published on magazine covers notably the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2016. I am presently raising funds through print sales of my painting 'Beacon of Hope' in collaboration with the Elbow Reef Lighthouse Society in Abaco, Bahamas to help raise funds to restore the lighthouse that was damaged by hurricane Dorian in 2019. My next art show is at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo in February 2021 and will surely commit to other events prior to that date.
