About The Artwork

This painting is intended to represent the feeling of happiness as a carrier of energy. For this, I decided to present the idea in a peculiar circumstance. The woman is riding a bicycle in the middle of the sea with strange creatures submerged in the depths. Letting us know that while we are on the happy path, there are also nearby mysterious paths. The figure throws flowers into space, transforming them into stars, thus leaving a mark during her journey. Overview of the painting This painting shows a woman riding a bicycle in the middle of the sea while throwing flowers into space that transform into stars. It was created in 2015-2021. Name: Happy The Aquatic Traveler Original acrylic painting signed by the artist Pablo Montes O’Neill  Size: 36" x 48" Note that this painting is rolled and well-protected in a tube. (Shipping large works of art bigger than 40 inches on one side requires that the canvas paintings do not stretch. I seek to project authentic, intimate interpretations of the world I encounter. As a native of Puerto Rico, I am influenced by the characters, emotions, images, and colors associated with the island. Sometimes I turn to my childhood memories to address the existential questions I want to express. I've recently explored the concepts of time, energy, light, and space through my paintings and drawings. This has led me to work with hybrid subjects and media that can converge figuration with traits of abstraction and surrealism. I use symbolism and distortions to bridge the figures and their environment, creating scenes where surrounding energies and time metaphors serve as the glue of an idea.
