Julius Painting Meet Julius, a fellow artist and a man who knows how to overcome adversity. He is a man that has paid it forward many times, and in all the years I’ve known him, I have heard nothing but the most positive things come out of his mouth. Our meeting and this painting take place in Gallery Onyx, a gallery that represents both of us but is also a frequent place for artists to gather and talk. I painted a replica of Basquiat’s painting to remember him as an artist. As I feel he is a vital part of our art history. Also, to speak to the old unjust ways of the powerful and how it destroyed them. We must gain knowledge of them and ourselves to keep us enlightened and not dunce. We continue to derive our strength from our ancestor’s knowledge, who is always present and watching over us. For most of us, our history continues to be elusive. But today, thanks to contemporaries like Julius, we can build new chapters forward. • Acrylic Painting on Canvas with Wood Stretcher • Dimensions: 48" H x 48" W x 1.5" D | 122 cm H x 122 cm W x 4 cm D • Medium: Acrylic Paint and Texture • Materials: Gloss Archival Varnish with UV Protection • Ready to Hang with D-Rings and Steel Braided Wire • Signed on the Lower Left Front and Lower Left Back • Signed Certificate of Authenticity with Artwork Photo • Sides: Artist Signature Vermilion Color. I am a second generation expressionist painter with a focus on creating paintings that embody movement, energy, and luminous light. My work puts cognitive thinking in the foreground, letting the viewer discover things along the way. I paint each artwork with a mix of expressionism and abstraction, with bold, colorful flowing lines. These works retell history, bringing back special people and places that have been misplaced, forgotten or unknown. I am interested in awakening cognitive thought, harnessing creative energy and to research the limits of universal thinking.
