About The Artwork
This is a new experimental work that I'm quite excited about. It has some influence from the work of Paul Klee. I wanted to capture the vibrant colours of the tropical sunsets in Sri Lanka. Fishing boats on a lagoon at sunset is very Sri Lankan scene. I then stylised and abstracted the idea to come up with this composition. I needed about 4 sittings to complete this painting, and had to leave it to dry for about one week between each sitting.
